Kari Schmidt, LPC, NCC is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the State of Michigan and a Nationally Board-Certified Counselor (NCC). She earned her master’s degree from Central Michigan University in 2013.
Kari is also a Certified Mental Health Integrative Medicine Provider (CMHIMP) and a Binge Eating and Chronic Dieting Professional (CBECDP).
She completed an 80-hour Level 1 Internal Family Systems (IFS) training in November 2019 and continues to participate in ongoing consultation and peer review. She has also engaged in advanced IFS-focused learning, including an IFS Somatic Parts Work retreat in Indonesia and specialized training in applying IFS with Autism and ADHD.
She is currently enrolled in a three-year professional training program with Somatic Experiencing® International and is working toward becoming a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP).
In addition, she completed a 40-hour, face-to-face, Somatic and Attachment-Focused (S.A.F.E.) EMDR basic training in February 2018. She is experienced in providing services to adolescents and adults in various settings, including medical facilities, non-profit organizations, and community-based programs.
